from 183 reviewsI haven't finished reading this book and I have learned so much already. I wish I had this book years ago.
This book was on the money! Hit so many points I’d been dealing with all my life. Love how the workbook went along and when you could go back and read what you wrote it helped with the other aspects as you got more in-depth with other issues!!! Absolutely a must read & must practice in recovery!!!
I am taking my time reading this book . I absolutely enjoy reading the book . Great information
Loved it! I’m excited to find more books like it! There is SO much to learn about re training our brains and Jacqui has given me the motivation and excitement to become a self loving me!
A really good read. Makes perfect sense. Can’t wait to read it again and actually do the exercises.
Learn some things about your mind that should have come as an "owner's manual" when you were born. Why we weren't all taught these things as children in school is beyond me. This knowledge can profoundly change the way you think, feel, and interact with the world of people around you. Get your copy today and begin operating your mind like you were meant to!! Five stars. Highly recommended.
I read this before passing it on to my granddaughter. I found it to be very insightful so I am sure it will be a good read for her!

Your books are helping my granddaughter.
This book had a lot of great insight and I felt there was a lot of helpful tools. With so many eating disorders in our society and so much pressure on our teenagers to look a certain way, I wish the section on trying to teach how to handle a large goal didn’t focus on losing weight as the example. The concepts are great, but a different example would be more appropriate for everyone.
This is an absolute must read and the workbook too. I have never read anything like her book to get to the bottom of your specific issues. And it’s not one size fits all. It’s so unique in under covering of the problems we create for ourselves as human. She takes you to the “you” you’ve been looking for.
Finished the book in one day. Couldn’t put it down.
This journal is really helpful. It’s practical and the writing prompts are applicable. The things we tell ourselves (our self-talk) impacts our mood and behavior. I’m a therapist, and self-care is obviously very important; use of this journal is a type of self-care, as it helps those of us who struggle to slow down, to do so.
I read the book and it really helped to open my eyes to how my mind works. Great tips to change your way of thinking. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the journal and really be able to dive in. I love the activities in the journal and the coloring pages really help to calm me. Great set to gift to anyone.
My daughter has severe anxiety and doesn't say much. She did say she really liked the book and thought the coloring pages and exercises in the journal helped her to stay calm. I'm seeing some changes in her and very hopeful that she will continue to improve as she works through the journal.
I did the exercises in the book, and I enjoyed how refreshed I felt afterward. With each attempt, I learned new things about myself. I learned how to be mindful of my inner mean-girl boss. Most importantly, my self-confidence and understanding of my thought patterns improved significantly. A great deal of analysis and intention was put into the writing of this work. This is a much-needed book for teens all over the world.
Kudos to Jacqui Letran for this successful attempt at explaining the power and impact of previous experiences on teens’ moods in her book “I would but my damn mind won’t let me.” In her accompanying journal, she offers teens effective tools to identify and overcome difficult emotions. Immensely aware of teens’ fears and challenges, Jacqui invites teens casually but powerfully to work through the four fears/beliefs that may cause them pain and frustration.
I am a registered nurse who teaches meditation to preoperative patients. I absolutely love your book and how you talk about the subconscious mind. It is discussed in such a way for everyone to understand the process of creating their own reality. It really goes right along with my work so thank you for these insights.
